Police say a Philadelphia-area woman is facing charges after she enlisted her 10-year-old daughter in a shoplifting scheme.

Upper Darby police say 36-year-old Nakeisha Williams was arrested Friday after her daughter tried to push a loaded shopping cart out of a supermarket.

Investigators say Williams loaded two carts with items and took one through a check-out line with a younger child while the older child was to push the other out the door without paying.

Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood tells the Delaware County Daily Times a security guard stopped the girl and Williams subsequently admitted she told the girl to walk out with misappropriated merchandise.

Chitwood says Williams has previous retail theft convictions. She is being held on $15,000 bail on charges including theft and child endangerment.
