A 54-year old Montgomery County man is facing first degree murder charges for the stabbing death of his mother.
Police say Warren Pennick of Lansdale walked into the police station on Halloween morning and told an officer he had just killed his mom inside his home on Salford Avenue.
When detectives arrived on the scene, they found 79-year old Lorraine Pennick lying at the bottom of the basement stairs. Investigators say her throat had been slashed. She also had stab wounds to her torso and defensive wounds on her wrists, police said.
Authorities also found bloody clothes that belong to Warren Pennick. Investigators believe he changed before heading to the police station to report the killing.
Pennick is being held in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 8.
