A missing Penn State Student is found dead on campus.

Joseph Dado, 18, was last seen leaving the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity around 3 a.m. Sunday.

Maintenance workers found his body Monday night at the bottom of a stairwell between the Hosler and Steidle buildings, according to The Daily Collegian.

"I was in the HUB and I saw Joe Dado's sister. She was heavily in tears," graduate student Kolby Kent Nelson told the school paper. "I wished there was something I could do, so I ran to the store and bought 300 candles."

Many students lit those candles and stood vigil outside as police investigated.

At this point, university police say the death appears to be accidental.

"It is tragic beyond words," said Vice President for Student Affairs Damon Sims.

Dado, was an engineering student from Latrobe, in western Pennsylvania.
