Man Tries to Lure Kids Into Minivan

Police release suspect sketch

A man in a slow-moving minivan tried to lure two children into his vehicle, according to police.

The incident happened 10 days ago, but with the man still on the loose, Tredyffrin Township Police hope a composite sketch released Friday will help them track him down.

Police say that between 4 and 5:30 p.m. on March 26 a man in a minivan drove up to two children playing in the Stafford section of Wayne, Pa. and twice called for one of them to get inside his vehicle.

The child didn't listen and both walked away.

According to police, the man eventually drove off in a light blue minivan -- possibly a Honda Odyssey -- with a dark gray front bumper, a license plate with red numerals on the front and back bumpers and sun curtains.

The man is described as being in his 40s with short black hair and light-colored eyes. He might speak with an accent, police said.

Det. James Konieczny is investigating the case. He can be reached at (610) 408-3647 or jkonieczny@tredyffrin.org.
