Missing Delaware Woman's Body Found in Tributary Waters of Rehoboth Bay

The body of a Delaware woman who was reported missing was found Thanksgiving morning in the tributary waters of Rehoboth Bay, said Delaware State Police.

A volunteer searching near Mary "Lorraine" Lappa's Teal Drive home in the Creeks End development of Millsboro found the 68-year-old's body around 11:40 a.m. Thursday.

A neighbor reported Lappa missing Wednesday evening after the neighbor went to Lappa's home to turn on lights because Lappa was planning on visiting relatives. The neighbor found Lappa's purse, car keys and cellphone in the house and her car in the driveway, but Lappa was not around, said investigators.

After searching for Lappa last night, troopers on Thursday sent a reverse 911 call to neighborhood residents to be on the lookout for her.

An autopsy was ordered to determine Lappa's cause of death.

Police do not suspect foul play.
