Delaware Home Sustains Heavy Damage in Fire

The State Fire Marshal's office says a home in Middletown was heavily damaged by fire.

No one was injured in the blaze, which was reported shortly after 1 a.m. Friday. Authorities say the occupants of the home were alerted by smoke alarms and got out safely.
 
The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation. Authorities say damage to the home is estimated at $300,000.

Several area fire companies responded to help put out the fire, led by the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown.
