Markelle Fultz Suffers Left Ankle Sprain in Vegas Summer League Game

LAS VEGAS -- Markelle Fultz was helped off the court by teammates without putting pressure on his left ankle in his Las Vegas Summer League debut Saturday against the Golden State Warriors. He did not return to the game because of an ankle sprain, the team announced.

The injury occurred less than halfway through the third quarter. Fultz was chasing down Golden State's Jabari Brown for a block when he stepped on the Brown's foot on the way up.

Fultz was attended to by the Sixers' athletic trainer. He looked to be grabbing his left ankle while he was on the ground.

Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot suffered an upper lip laceration while Brown went up for his shot. He required stitches and did not return, either. Luwawu-Cabarrot and Fultz were injured on the same play.
