Man on a Smash and Grab Spree: Police

Man wanted in Delco smash and grab also being sought by NJ authorities

Authorities on both sides of the Delaware are searching for a man, they say, has been swiping wallets and racking up huge bills on victim's credit and debit cards.

The unidentified man allegedly looks for cars in the parking lots of local fitness centers, breaks the driver's window, grabs their wallet and then quickly goes on spending sprees, according to police.

The man's first crime apparently happened in Washington Township, N.J. back on Feb. 13, authorities say. Surveillance cameras captured him using stolen credit cards at the Target along Rt. 42.

Police believe the man smashed a car window at the LA Fitness further south along Rt. 42 and obtained the stolen cards.

Authorities in Voorhees, N.J. say the same man completed the same crime a month later at the Flyers Skate Zone. In that case, the man allegedly charged away with stolen cards at the Best Buy and Target stores in Deptford, N.J.

The man then made the jump into the Keystone State, but this time with an accomplice, authorities say.

The pair broke a driver's window at the LA Fitness along Baltimore Pike in Springfield, Pa. and in just 18 minutes spent $1,500 at the nearby Target, according to police.

In each case, surveillance cameras clearly snapped headshots of the man. Police are now hoping someone will be able to recognize him and tip them off.

"It's excellent video footage," Det. Robert Nutley of Springfield Police said. "I mean, someone's going to notice who these people are."
