Man in Critical After Being Rescued From West Oak Lane House Fire

A man is fighting for his life after he was rescued from a fire in the West Oak Lane section of the city.

The blaze began at a home on the 6200 block of N 3rd Street. A 40-year-old man was rescued from the fire. Officials say he suffered burns to 80 percent of his body.

He was rushed to Einstein Medical Center where he remained in extremely critical condition. Police did not report any other injuries.

Firefighters were able to place the blaze under control.

The American Red Cross says they took in and gave assistance to a family of two left homeless by the blaze.
