A man is fighting for his life after a shooting and robbery in Atlantic City.

Police say a 51-year-old man was walking with a group of friends on Vermont Avenue around 6:45 p.m. when they were approached by a group of five or six armed men wearing dark clothing. The armed men robbed the group of several iPhones and an unknown amount of cash, according to investigators. Police also say the suspects pressed guns to the victims’ heads. During the robbery, the 51-year-old man was shot in the stomach and the suspects fled the scene.

The victim was taken to the Atlantic City Medical Center where he is in critical condition. No arrests have been made. Police continue to investigate.
