Man Without Use of Arms Jailed on Gun Charges Released

A man who can't use his arms because of a spinal condition has been released from jail without having to pay bail on a gun possession charge.

Marcus Hubbard had been jailed since his arrest in Trenton in August. His bail was lowered Tuesday, but the Times of Trenton reports that he was released without bail Friday.

Hubbard's attorney, Caroline Turner, says she is delighted by the decision and will fight for all of the charges to be dismissed.

Hubbard injured his spine in a car accident and may have Lou Gehrig's disease.

Authorities say Hubbard and three other men were in a car that ran a red light in Trenton and was pulled over. They say inside the car police officers found a stolen handgun in a seatback pocket and a prescription bottle of codeine.
