Man With Crutch, Cowboy Hat Robs Pawn Shop: Cops

Police released surveillance video of the robbery exclusively to NBC10

Pennsauken Police are searching for a man who they say robbed Joe's Jewelers on Route 130 early Thursday, just minutes after the store opened.

Investigators say the man had a limp and walked with a single crutch. He was wearing a cowboy hat when he entered the store and told the woman working at the shop that he wanted to pawn a gold ring.

That worker talked to NBC10's Cydney Long about what happened next.

"The next thing I know, I had a big weapon right on my body. I was terrified," said the employee who did not want to be identified.

On the video, released exclusively to NBC10, police say you can see the man pull out a sawed off shotgun from his pants leg. The employee says the man demanded cash and her purse before running out the door.

"He has a funny run to him. I think if somebody knows the guy, they will recognize him from the video," said Lt. Michael Probasco, Pennsauken Police.

Police say he left in a silver minivan with a missing rear hubcap on the right wheel. He did leave behind a metal crutch which police are now processing for fingerprints.
