Man Who Called 911 in Sleep Busted for Drugs

Police say the man accidentally rolled over on his phone.

Drug charges have been filed against a central New Jersey man who apparently called 911 in his sleep, then quickly ended the call after realizing what had happened.

Officers followed standard procedure and responded to the Spotswood home on Sunday. They found no emergency situation after questioning the home's owner.

Police believe the owner's 34-year-old son William G. Rizzolo Jr. accidentally called 911 when he rolled over in his sleep, according to The Star-Ledger.

The officers eventually went inside the residence and found Rizzolo Jr. drunk in his bedroom, along with an open duffel bag containing half a pound of marijuana and other drugs.

The Star-Ledger reports the man was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and taken to the Middlesex County Adult Corrections center. His bail is set at $3,000.
