Man Wanted in 7-Eleven Robberies

Police believe the same man is behind two early morning convenience store robberies

Delaware State Police say two 7-Eleven stores on Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington were robbed early Sunday morning. The stores were a mile-and-a-half away from each other.

The first robbery happened at 4:40 a.m. at the 7-Eleven on the 3700 block of Kirkwood Highway. Police say a 53-year-old employee was standing outside the front door of the store when a man forced him back inside and demanded money from the register. No word on how much money he took.

The second robbery happened at 5:40 a.m. at the 7-Eleven on the 2500 block of Kirkwood Highway. In this incident, investigators say the man vaulted the front counter and attempted to assault a 52-year old employee. The employee ran from the store, but was chased and led back inside by the suspect, police said. The clerk gave him some cash and the man took off.

Both clerks were uninjured.
