Man Wanted for Possible Del. Abduction Attempt

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

Wilmington police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man they say may have attempted to abduct a 14-year-old girl in broad daylight Thursday.

The victim told police that she was walking on the 3200 block of N. Market Street just before 4 p.m. when a man pulled up in a car next to her, grabbed her and told her to get in the car. She says he held on until he saw another pedestrian coming towards them and then fled, police said.

The man was described to the police by the teen as black male with a thin beard and mustache wearing a black jacket with white and orange stripes, black pants and a watch with the Pittsburgh Steelers logo on it.

The victim says the man was driving a cream or tan 4-door Cadillac, police said in a press release.

Wilmington police are urging anyone with information to contact authorities.
