Police have been trying to determine who robbed a western Pennsylvania man who was accosted while riding a mobility scooter because he has difficulty walking.
Police in Greensburg say the incident happened about 3:30 a.m. Saturday as the victim, John Byrns, was riding home from a convenience store. Greensburg is about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh.
Investigators say at least one person jumped out from some bushes, put a bag over Byrns' head, and knocked him off the scooter.
Byrns says the suspects kept saying, “Over and over, ‘Your money, your money, your money, your money.’”
The thieves got away with $32 and Byrns had to be treated at a hospital for nasal fractures, a cut over his left eye and other injuries from being punched and kicked.
