The Delaware State Police are searching for a man who allegedly attempted to lure a young girl into his vehicle.
At 6:10 p.m. on Wednesday, a 12-year-old girl from Wilmington was waiting for her father to pick her up on a sidewalk in front of Stanton Middle School.
A man then arrived in a white work van and told her to get in, according to authorities. Fortunately the girl managed to outsmart the suspect.
The girl held her iPod and pretended that it was a phone, telling the man that she was going to call 911. After that, the suspect fled the scene.
The suspect has been described as a white male with dark crew cut styled hair between the ages of 35 and 45. He was last seen wearing a dark sweatshirt.
