Man Grabs, Tries to Abduct Del. Girls: Police

Police are searching for a man who allegedly tried to abduct two girls in two separate incidents on the same day.

On Sunday around 3:30 p.m., police say that two 12-year-old girls were walking down Cedar Lane by the Frog Hollow Golf course in Middletown, when the suspect began to follow them.

The girls, Kilah Gunns and her friend Devinn Trimble, reportedly stopped at a nearby playground to see if the man would pass them. Instead, the man began to linger around the area and even asked the girls for directions in a way that made the girls fell uncomfortable, they said.

The girls ran away from the park but the man caught up to them at a nearby building, wrapped his arm around the face of one of the girls and tried to pick her up, police said.

"I was just trying to get away and he picked me up between my legs -- tried to throw me over his shoulder," Kilah, who had permission from her mother to speak, told NBC Philadelphia's David Hall.

"I started punching him in the face and he just put his hand over my face to stop me from screaming and I just hit him and he dropped me and he just took off running," Kilah said.

The two friends then ran to the Devinn’s house.

Devinn's mom contacted the police after the girls told her what happened. A K-9 officer quickly searched the area but the man was not found.

The attack left the girls feeling uneasy.

"I'm afraid to walk by myself now," said Kilah.

On the same day, Middletown Police received another call from a parent of a 14-year-old girl who was allegedly approached by the same suspect by the parkland at the intersection of Ashland and Greenlawn Boulevard around 3:45 p.m.

The suspect allegedly approached the 14-year-old and her 12-year-old friend. He grabbed one of the girls by the waist but she managed to fight him off, causing the man to flee into the nearby woods, cops said.

Another K-9 search was conducted but as before, the man was not found.

Police describe the suspect as an average-built Asian man, between the ages of 23 and 30, standing at 5-foot-10.

He has black hair, a buzz cut, a light mustache and hair on his chin.

He was last seen wearing a white Aeropostale hoodie with a zipper on the front, designer blue jeans and black sneakers.

If you have any information on the man’s whereabouts, please call the Middletown Police at 302-376-9950.
