Driver Trapped in Overturned Car for Hours: Reports

A vehicle tumbled down an embankment in Philadelphia's Wissahickon Valley Park early Saturday morning, trappingthe driver in the overturned car for hours.

Officials responded to reports of an overturned vehicle on Forbidden Drive near Bells Mill Road in the city's Chestnut Hill neighborhood around 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Initial reports indicated the driver, who was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center, was stuck for about six hours after the accident occurred.

The dense woods of Wissahickon Valley Park make it difficult to obtain cell phone service, which contributed to how long the man was trapped, police said.

Typically vehicles are not permitted on Forbidden Drive, which is often used as a running and biking trail.

It is unclear why the man was driving on the road and whether he suffered any injuries.
