Man, Teen Charged in Death of Lancaster Teacher

Police have arrested a 25-year-old man they say helped a teenage boy kill a sixth-grade teacher in Lancaster.

Thomas Moore was charged Tuesday with homicide, burglary, conspiracy and other offenses in connection with the death of 32-year-old Nicole Mathewson.

A 16-year-old boy was charged Monday after Mathewson's body was found.

Police say the boy told them he and another person went to her home intending to steal items. Police say the two "applied force" to Mathewson, who taught for seven years at Brownstown Elementary School.

She died from several traumatic injuries.

The Associated Press generally doesn't identify juvenile criminal defendants.

Moore was taken to police headquarters for processing. The 16-year-old is jailed without bond.

Court records don't list lawyers for them.
