Authorities have identified a man who was struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train in northern New Jersey this weekend.

Twenty-three-year-old Kenneth Gibbs of Fair Lawn was struck around 1:40 p.m. Saturday, just east of the Broadway station near the border of Elmwood Park and Fair Lawn.

No passengers were aboard the Hoboken-bound Bergen County Line train at the time.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Service on a stretch of the Bergen County line was suspended for about 90 minutes after the accident occurred, but regular service was restored by late Saturday afternoon.
