Man Shot in the Head Near Apt. Complex

A man is fighting for his life after he was shot near an apartment complex in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was standing in the back of the Riverside Apartment Complex on the 100 block of Schuylkill Avenue around 3 a.m.

Police say an unidentified gunman confronted the man and opened fire, striking him in the head. The suspect then got into a car and drove it to the front of the complex, according to investigators. While he was driving, investigators say he struck a police cruiser. The suspect then allegedly abandoned the car and fled on foot.

The victim was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is currently in critical condition.

Police searched the area for the suspect but were unable to find him. They continue to investigate.
