Man Shot During Dirt Bike Craigslist Sale

    A man is undergoing emergency surgery after being shot by two suspects who answered a dirt bike for sale ad through the online classifieds site Craigslist.

    The 31-year-old victim was shot once in the chest around 4:45 p.m. on Friday along the 3700 block of N. 5th Street in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia, police tell NBC10.com.

    Detectives on scene tell NBC10.com the victim was meeting the men who answered a for sale ad for an older model white Yahama 125 dirt bike posted to Craigslist.

    The men then shot the victim and stole the bike, according to detectives.

    Police say the suspects fled on the bike south on N. 5th Street and then west on Erie Street. One man is described as dark complected and weighing about 300 lbs. and wearing all gray clothing. The other is only described as a short, thin-built man wearing all blue clothing.

    The dirt bike had decals posted all over the frame, police said.

    Witnesses rushed the the victim to Temple University Hospital in their car. He is listed in critical condition and is in surgery.
