Man Shot, Toddler Injured on SEPTA Trolley

A 20-year-old man was shot in the groin after boarding a SEPTA trolley in Kingsessing

A 20-year-old man was shot in the groin after boarding a SEPTA trolley at 57th and Chester Avenue in the Kingsessing section of Philadelphia Sunday night, police say.

A 3-year-old child was injured in the mayhem, though police have yet to confirm whether the toddler was shot or hurt in the stampede that followed the shooting.

Abraham Abdullah was waiting for the trolley at 57th and Chester when he saw a group of males with whom he’d had an altercation with about a year ago, police say. When the trolley arrived Abdullah boarded it and the group of men followed him.

One of the men pulled out a gun and shot Abdullah in the groin, police say. Abdullah was brought to Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and is in stable condition.

Medics transported a toddler from the scene of the shooting to an area hospital, but say that the 3-year-old was not seriously injured.
