A Delaware County mother is grieving the loss of her 22-year-old son as she starts the new year.
About an hour after revelers rang in 2015, Ramon Anderson, of Yeadon, was killed in a yard near the intersection of Price and Culhane streets in Chester, police said.
Circumstances surrounding the Anderson's death are unclear.
"He had a good heart," said Deborah Anderson, the deadly shooting victims mother. "I'm not just saying that. He had a good heart."
Anderson said her son, an engaged father of two daughters, was likely trying to help when he was killed.
"He stepped in," she said. "And tonight that's exactly what he did. He stepped in, in defense of somebody else."
Authorities have yet to disclose details surrounding Anderson's death.
