Man Shot, Killed Sitting on Olney Front Porch

Police say three suspects fired two dozen shots

Police are searching for three suspects who they say gunned down a man sitting on the porch of a home in the Olney section of the city.

The violent attack on the 31-year-old victim happened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday on the 200 block of Duncannon Street while he sat with a friend out front of the house where he was staying.

Investigators tell NBC10's Tim Furlong that three men fired at least two dozen shots from about 25 feet away, hitting the victim in the head, face and chest.

He was able to make his way into the house, but was pronounced dead minutes later on the second floor, according to police.

"We have several witnesses, family and friends, from the neighborhood who witnessed the shooting. They've been transported to homicide, and hopefully we'll figure out who committed this homicide," Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

Police are also reviewing private surveillance video, hoping to identify the suspects.

The suspects were last seen running up American Street. One was wearing a black hoodie and another was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, according to investigators.
