The man convicted of stealing two police cruisers, running down an officer and leading authorities on a two-state chase will spend nearly two decades in prison.
A New Jersey judge sentenced Blake Bills to 17 years in a state prison on Thursday afternoon.
Bills, of Macungie, Pa., previously pleaded guilty to Carjacking and Eluding Authorities for a wild, movie-like chase through Camden, N.J. and Philadelphia, Pa. in March 2013.
The 25-year-old man and his girlfriend, Shayna Sykes, stole a Camden Police Officer's cruiser, ran him down and then led police on a chase through Pennsauken, N.J. The couple, who have been called a modern day Bonnie and Clyde, then crossed the Benjamin Franklin Bridge into Philadelphia.
Once there, the sped through several city neighborhoods, before crashing the cruiser in North Philadelphia. Bills was then arrested, but Sykes was able to jump into a Philadelphia Police cruiser and lead police on another chase. She was eventually stopped in Northern Liberties and arrested.

The couple confessed to having an addiction to drugs and told authorities they stole the Reid-Bey's cruiser to stay warm.

The Camden officer, Sekou Reid-Bey, suffered a broken leg after being run down. In court on Thursday, county prosecutor Victoria Shelton said Reid-Bey's injury left him permanently disabled.
"He will never be able to be a police officer again," she said in court. "Additionally, he does have permanent mobility problems and will have to deal with that for the rest of his life."
Bills did not speak, but his attorney apologized for him to the officer and his family. He previously pleaded guilty to Theft and Fleeing Police charges in Philadelphia as well as a burglary case.
Sykes also previously pled guilty in the case.
