Man Sentenced on Child Pornography Charges

A southern New Jersey man has been sentenced to prison for distributing child pornography over the internet.

The attorney general's office says Max E. Mejia was sentenced Friday in Atlantic County to three years in state prison.

The 48-year-old Atlantic City resident was among 27 people arrested in 2012 in "Operation Watchdog,'' a multi-agency investigation into an online child pornography ring.

Mejia pleaded guilty Jan. 31 to counts of possessing and distributing child pornography.

He is also ordered to register as a Megan's Law offender.
