Man Revived After Nearly Drowning at Cherry Hill Pool

A Philadelphia man is in the hospital after he nearly drowned in a pool in Cherry Hill.

On Saturday, at 10:17 p.m., Cherry Hill police responded to the Kingston Estates Swim Club on Deland Avenue for a report of a possible drowning. When they arrived they found 31-year-old Maurice Relaford unconscious and unresponsive.

Investigators say lifeguards had removed Relaford from the water and performed CPR before police were called. Relaford was taken to JFK Hospital where E.R. doctors tried to revive him.

After about an hour, investigators say Doctors were able to revive and stabilize Relaford. Relaford is currently in the intensive care unit at JFK Hospital. Police have not yet revealed his condition.

Police say Relaford was a guest at the swim club attending a large birthday party at the time of the near drowning.
