Police say a suburban Philadelphia man is facing charges after sexually assaulting a former girlfriend and using her smartphone to capture the encounter on video.

The Delaware County Daily Times reports 23-year-old Gaurave Kumar was arraigned Monday on rape and related charges in the June 11 incident.

Kumar sexually assaulted the woman as she slept at his home along the 500 block of Larchwood Avenue in Upper Darby, Pa., according to Upper Darby Police.

Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood says the victim recently found the video on her iPhone and reported the incident.

The victim says she remembers eating dinner and going to bed after starting to feel sick. The woman told police she was unaware of the alleged assault until she found the video.

Kumar did not have a listed telephone number and it could not immediately be determined if he had an attorney.

Upper Darby is located in Delaware County, Pa. and is about 10 miles from Center City Philadelphia.
