Man Photographed Boy on Toilet Stall at Disney World: Police

A Montgomery County man is in prison waiting to be extradited to Florida to face a charge that he allegedly photographed an 8-year-old boy in a toilet stall at Disney World earlier this month.

According to court documents, Joseph M. Cionzynski, 59, of Lansdale, was arrested on Wednesday one day after the Orange County Sheriff’s Department issued a warrant on one count of felony video voyeurism against a child younger than 16 years of age.

The boy’s mother told police that on August 2 her son went into a stall inside the men’s restroom at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Buena Vista. The boy told his mother that while he was sitting on the toilet, he saw a man in the stall to his right stick his hand under the partition taking pictures of him with a cell phone.

Police say the boy was able to get a look at the man’s shoes before he ran out of the bathroom crying and yelling to his mother about the alleged incident.

Investigators say the mother ran into the restroom where the boy was able to point out the man by the shoes he was wearing.

Investigators say the mother confronted the man telling him “you took a picture of my son…if you are a child molester; I am going to call security right now.” The woman left the restroom and asked a cleaning lady who was nearby to call police.

When police arrived they took the man into custody. He was identified as Cionzynski with his Pennsylvania driver’s license. Cionzynski told police that “he totally understood and was willing and eager to assist in any way he could to resolve the situation which was just a minor misunderstanding.”

Police asked to see Cionzynski cell phone which he voluntarily handed over, according to investigators.

The phone contained over 800 photographs but there were no photos of the boy, according to police.
