Man Killed While Catching Frogs

A Cambria County man was struck and killed while collecting frogs for biology programs.

Officials say a man fatally struck on a rural Pennsylvania road was collecting frogs for high school biology programs he ran at area schools.

The Cambria County coroner's office says 66-year-old Thomas Bodenschatz was struck and killed early Saturday morning in Summerhill Township.

Deputy coroner Jeff Lees says Bodenschatz was collecting frogs near Wilmore Dam when he was struck by another car that swerved to avoid his parked vehicle.

Bodenschatz's death was ruled an accident.
