Man Killed After Shooting Leads to Car Crash

A man is dead after a shooting in the Fairmount Park section of the city.

Police say the 30-year-old man was driving on 33rd and Girard Avenue on Saturday shortly after 2 a.m. when an unknown gunman opened fire, striking the driver.

The driver lost control of his vehicle and then crashed into a tree, according to investigators. The man, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:45 a.m.
