Man Kidnaps, Tortures 15-Year-Old Ex-Girlfriend: Cops

Police say the girl was kidnapped and tortured for four days.

Police are on the hunt for a Trenton man who they believe kidnapped and tortured a 15-year-old girl for four days.

On May 5th at 3 p.m., the girl was walking past a mini-mart on Greenwood Avenue and Chambers Street. Suddenly she spotted her ex-boyfriend, 20-year-old Marquis Smith, according to the Trentonian.

Smith allegedly drove towards her as she tried to get away. Police say he then jumped out of the car and choked the girl unconscious. He then placed her inside his vehicle.

Investigators say the girl woke up in an unknown residence and was held captive in an attic.

Over the course of four days, Smith allegedly sexually assaulted her, kicked and punched her and burned her arms with cigarettes.

The Trentonian reports that Smith asked her if she was having sex with his friends and threatened to torture her if she didn’t answer.

Authorities also say that the girl was given nothing to eat and very little water to drink.

The girl was finally able to escape on the fourth day after Smith left the house, according to the Trentonian. She reportedly escaped out of a window.

The girl then went home and her mother contacted police.

Police say that the girl had gotten in a fight with her mother the day she was kidnapped. The two reportedly had gotten into arguments in the past in which the girl would then go to a friend’s house, which is why the girl’s mother didn’t call the authorities.

The girl reportedly suffered from a blackened right eye, burn marks on her arms and bruises on her arms, legs and back.

Police are currently searching for Smith, though the Trentonian reports that they refuse to release his picture for fear of hurting the investigation.

He is wanted for kidnapping, sexual assault, criminal restraint and other related charges.

If you have any information on Smith’s whereabouts, please contact the Trenton Police Department.
