Man Hospitalized After South Philadelphia Stabbing

Police: Attack stemmed from earlier fight

A man has been hospitalized after he was stabbed outside a bar in South Philadelphia early Saturday morning.

Authorities say that the 45-year-old man was stabbed in the head and stomach in the 2600 block of Alder Street at around 2:30 a.m. He was taken to a local hospital, where he is listed as being in stable condition.

Investigators say that the stabbing stemmed from an earlier fight, and that shots were fired, but apparently no one was hit and no other injuries were reported.

An investigation is ongoing, but no arrests have been made.
