Man Hides Cocaine, Marijuana in Prosthetic Leg: Cops

Wilmington Police arrested a man who they say hid crack cocaine and marijuana inside his prosthetic leg.

On Friday, shortly after 1 p.m., two officers responded to the Riverside area in Wilmington after receiving a 911 call for a disorderly subject. When they arrived they found Jose Santiago, standing in the middle of the road on the 2700 block of N. Claymont Street.

Investigators say Santiago appeared intoxicated and began to yell obscenities. Police took him into custody without incident and discovered he had several outstanding arrest warrants, according to investigators.

While he was at police headquarters, investigators say they found 2.5 grams of crack cocaine and 2.8 grams of marijuana hidden inside Santiago’s prosthetic leg. Santiago is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of crack cocaine and disorderly conduct. He is being held at police headquarters pending arraignment.
