Man Fudges Checks to Steal Chocolate: Cops

Police say an Allentown man is facing charges of forgery, writing bad checks and more after he stole more than $1000 in chocolate.

A 50-year-old Allentown man is facing multiple charges after cops say he wrote bad checks to purchase almost $1500 in chocolate from Keystone State Distributors in March, according to the Bethlehem Patch.

Joseph Fiore was arrested and charged with felony forgery, writing bad checks, theft and receiving stolen property.

The Patch reports
that on March 15, Fiore used a check from a bank that is no longer in business to pay for $730 worth of chocolate from Keystone State, according to the arrest affidavit.

He returned to the distributor on Mach 19 and made the same purchase using the same bad checks.

Both times, Fiore signed the checks as β€œAnthony Larusso,” according to the Bethlehem Patch. When Keystone caught on, they alerted authorities.

Fiore was identified through surveillance video.

He was arraigned Monday. His bail is set at $25,000.
