Man Found Dead in Abandoned Car After 911 Call

County homicide detectives were investigating after a man was found fatally shot in the back seat of a car abandoned in the middle of a western Pennsylvania road.

West Mifflin police responded about 3:30 a.m. Thursday after a 911 call reporting a man not breathing and wounded in a vehicle.

They arrived to find the car parked sideways, across a road divider, with the shooting victim inside. His name was not immediately released.

But Allegheny County police were called in, and dogs used to search the area, because police found footprints in the snow leading from the vehicle.

West Mifflin police Chief Ken Davies tells the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that police were also hoping surveillance video from nearby videos would yield clues, and says two people police found nearby were being questioned.
