A man is dead after rescue crews pulled him from a quarry in eastern Pennsylvania.
Authorities say a 22-year-old man was swimming in a Lower Mount Bethel Township quarry Sunday afternoon when he went under water. Crews were called at around 3 p.m. and rescue divers found the man about an hour later.
First responders pulled the victim into a boat and immediately began CPR. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities haven't identified the man.
Fire Chief Jeff Larrison Sr. says the man was with a group and was seen jumping off a ledge into the quarry. He says the victim was found about 20 feet below the surface.
Larrison says the area is off-limits to swimmers.
