Man Found Beaten to Death in Home

Authorities are searching for other residents of a Delaware County home where a man was found beaten to death.

Police in Upper Darby say 59-year-old Michael Fanning, who was found dead in a second floor bedroom of his Ruskin Lane home, may have been dead for several days before his body was found Monday.

Co-workers went to the home of the Haverford College painter after not having heard from him for several days. When the victim didn't answer, they called 911.

The Delaware County Daily Times reports police climbed through a window and discovered Fanning.

Superintendent Michael Chitwood said officers found no sign of forced entry at the residence and believe the victim's car was stolen. Investigators are looking for the 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis, license plate "RICTER," according to the Delco Times.

Police said they also found drug paraphernalia but don't know whose property it was. They are searching for other people who resided in the home.

“We’ve got a full-court press trying to find the people who live there,” Chitwood told the Times.
