Son Flags Down Passing Motorist in Bucks County, Says That He ‘Killed His Mother': Police

A man described by police as "partially clad" who "appeared to have been in an altercation" flagged down a passing motorist Thursday afternoon in Lower Makefield, Bucks County, and allegedly said he killed his mother.

When officers arrived at 3 p.m., they found Zachary Cope on Taylorsville Road wearing flip flops and shorts. Police immediately went to his home a few blocks away on Lower Hilltop Road to find 52-year-old Rebecca Cope dead on the kitchen floor, investigators said.

It appeared the elder Cope was stabbed and cut and struck over her head and boy multiple times, said township police. An autopsy would determine the exact cause of death.

Police charged Zachary Cope with criminal homicide. A judge arraigned him Friday morning and sent him to county jail, said police.
