Man Arrested in Rehoboth NYE Stabbing

Suspect arrested in New Year's Eve stabbing in Rehoboth Beach, Del.

Delaware State Police say they have made an arrest in the stabbing of a 19-year-old Maryland man in Rehoboth, Del. on New Year’s Eve.

Lavar Hall, 34, has been charged with first-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.

Hall and the victim were arguing when it turned into a physical confrontation on the 19000 block of Norwood Street on Saturday about 9:20 p.m. Police say that during the fight, Hall stabbed the victim several times in the upper body with a pocket knife and then fled the area.

The victim, of Havre de Grace, was taken to the Beebe Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Police say Hall was taken into custody after returning to the scene.
