Man Arrested for Sexually Assaulting 6-Year-Old: Cops

Police say man grabbed little girl while she was walking to a corner store in Kensington Thursday

The person of interest in the molestation of a 6-year-old girl is now the suspect, as police finally charged him with multiple counts of sexual assault, authorities say.

Police say 22-year-old Marcise Turner has been charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful restraint, luring a child, sexual assault and related charges

Turner was being questioned last night after he was seen on surveillance video at a corner store near the place of the alleged kidnapping, police say.

The 6-year-old girl was walking alone near the corner store at E and Tioga streets in Kensington Thursday afternoon when Turner lured her and forced her into an abandoned building, according to police.

The girl’s mother called 911 when the 6-year-old didn’t return from her trip to the corner store. The mother ran up and down the street, going door-to-door, searching for her daughter, neighbors say.

Neighbor Wendy Soveral told NBC 10 that when the mom finally found the 6-year-old "she was crying. Her shirt was ripped, her shirt was ripped. She had a white shirt on. Mom was hysterical, too."

Police believe the sexual assault happened somewhere on the 3400 block of E Street.
