Man Arrested for 6th DUI

Officers say they smelled alcohol after pulling the man over in Dover, Delaware

For the sixth time found himself under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Delaware State Police says a trooper pulled over Takoi Morris, 32, of Dover, Del. after seeing him talk on a cellphone while driving on South DuPont Highway in Dover.

Morris was stopped at 12:45 p.m. Thursday on the 1200 block of South Governors Avenue.

The trooper began to investigate, after noticing the smell of alcohol coming from the car.

Morris was taken into custody.

He now faces a list of charges, including a sixth offense of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while suspended or revoked, no proof of insurance and driving while using electronic communication device.

His five DUI convictions date back to 2000, according to police.

Morris was held on $11,101 secured bail.
