Man Accused of Killing Girlfriend, Keeping Body in Closet

A central Pennsylvania man has been charged in the stabbing death of his girlfriend, whose decomposing body authorities allege he kept in his closet for three weeks before leaving it in a trash can outside his public housing apartment complex.

Thirty-four-year-old Hasan Gooden-Reid of Williamsport is charged in Lycoming County with homicide, aggravated assault and other counts in the death of 22-year-old Kristina Pope,

Authorities allege that the two fought July 7 over a broken toilet and he stabbed her four times, then put her body in a closet the next day. Officials allege that he placed the body in a trash can and put it out with the garbage early Tuesday.

Gooden-Reid declined comment to reporters; court documents don't list an attorney who could respond to the charges.
