Man, 66, Accused of Unlawful Sexual Contact With Teen

Police say the man is accused of touching a 17-year-old over a nine-month period

A 66-year-old Felton man is facing criminal charges after being accused of inappropriately touching a 17-year-old boy over a nine-month period, according to Delaware State Police.

Investigators say John J. Trenberth made sexual advances towards the teen starting in June 2012. The teen contacted police Monday and told them about the alleged incidents. Police arrested Trenberth Friday and charged him with two counts unlawful sexual contact in the second degree with a person less than 18 years of age and endangering the welfare of a child.

Trenberth was later released on a $12,500 unsecured bond and issued to have no contact with the victim or any child under the age of 18.

Anyone with information about this or any other incident involving Trenberth is asked to contact Detective Andrew Palese, Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit, at 302-697-4455, or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
