Man, 2 Boys Attacked by Pit Bull in West Oak Lane

A man and two children are recovering after police say they were attacked by a dog in the West Oak Lane section of the city.

An 11-year-old boy and 9-year-old boy were walking down an alley near the 1500 block of Beverly Road around 5:45 p.m. Saturday when they were attacked and bitten by a pit bull, according to investigators.

A 25-year-old man spotted the children and tried to intervene but was also bitten by the dog. The three victims were all taken to Einstein Hospital where they're in stable condition.

Police were able to capture the dog and currently have the animal in custody. They are now waiting for the Philadelphia Animal Care and Control Association (PACCA) team to pick the pit bull up.

Officials have not yet revealed who the dog's owner is.
