Mack Trucks to Lay Off Hundreds in Lehigh Valley

Hundreds of workers at Mack Trucks' facility in the Lehigh Valley will be out of a job early next year.

The decision to cut about 400 jobs, or more than one-fifth of the Lehigh Valley's 1,850 workers, is due to reduced demand in the market, according to Christopher Heffner, a spokesman for the heavy-duty truck manufacturer.

The layoffs will take effect beginning Jan. 25.
