Lucky Man Cashes in on Store Clerk's Mistake

Clerk accidentally sells man winning lottery ticket

It’s not every day that not getting what you paid for turns out to be so profitable.

A Cumberland County store clerk's mistake drew no complaints after the error turns into big bucks.

A regular customer walked into Indian Fields Market in Bridgeton, N.J. and asked for a Deuces Wild scratch-off lottery ticket Monday night, said store owner Domenic Galle.

Amber Johnson was behind the counter. She accidentally gave the guy an Aces High ticket instead, Galle said. It was an honest mistake -- both scratch-offs were poker-themed.

Johnson noticed the mistake and went running after the customer. But, her boss told her to stop.

"Let him go. Maybe it was meant to be," said Galle.

He was right. The guy wouldn’t be gone for long.

The same guy walked in an hour later with a $100,000 winning ticket, Galle said.

This guy could be the luckiest lottery winner ever -- seriously.

The winner did not want to release his name. Can’t really blame him. Heck, everyone would probably be asking him to share some of that luck (or money) if he did.

But, he did let the clerk know that he would give her $1,000 for selling him the ticket. Not a bad pay off for a foul up.
