First Lady Pumps Up Supporters in Philly

Michelle Obama says the November presidential election is going to be a tight race and she's urging supporters to get out the vote.

First lady Michelle Obama spoke to hundreds of supporters and volunteers at a ticketed event at  the National Constitution Center in Old City on Wednesday afternoon.

She touted achievements such as the health care act, employment gains and tax cuts. She says the November election could come down to just a few voters registered by supporters.

President Barack Obama handily won Pennsylvania in 2008 against Republican John McCain, and the state has supported Democrats in the most recent five presidential elections. This year, Republican candidate Mitt Romney is pushing to take the state away from Obama.

First grade teacher Erin Thesing from Mastery Charter Mann Elementary School introduced Mrs. Obama.

Thesing received an Excellence in Teaching award from Teach America.
